Commissioner or Competition; Competition Tribunal File No. 2003-05

I confirm that the Commissioner will consent to a limited stay of the Tribunal's Divestiture Order so t11at the time for divestiture of the Ridge Landfill by CWS will expire sixty days after the Tribunal's Decision on Canadian Waste's Application to vary or set aside the Divestiture Order.

The Commissioner will consent to this limited stay so that the Tribunal will have adequate time to hear and determine CWS's section 106 Application. .lt is a matter of importance to the Commissioner, however. that the Application be heard and determined in a timely way. In that regard, I have enclosed a proposed Hearing Schedule which has been ail"eed to by the parties. If our proposed hearing dates are unavailable, then the sched.1.1.lc will have to be adjusted accordingly.
