IN THE MATTER OF an application by the Commissioner of Competition for a consent order pursuant to sections 92 and 105 of the Competition Act, RSC 1985, c C-34;

 

AND IN THE MATTER OF the proposed merger between Quebecor Inc. and Le Groupe Vidéotron Ltée under which Quebecor Inc. will acquire, among other things, indirect control of Groupe TVA Inc., a subsidiary of Le Groupe Vidéotron Ltée.

SCHEDULING ORDER


  • [1] FURTHER TO section 79 of the Competition Tribunal Rules;

 

  • [2] AND UPON consultation with theparties;

 

THE TRIBUNAL ORDERS THAT:

 

  • [3] It is understood that any application for leave to intervene and any comments must be filed with the Registrar by December 18, 2000. The Commissioner must, and the Respondent may, serve and file replies to any comments and responses to any applications for leave to intervene within seven days following the expiration of the time for filing comments or applications for leave to intervene.

 

  • [4] If no application for leave to intervene is received, the hearing on the Application will be held on Monday, January 15, 2001, at 10:00 a.m. in the Competition Tribunal hearing room located at 90 Sparks Street, Room 600, Ottawa, Ontario.

 

  • [5] A pre-hearing conference will be held by conference call at 2:30 p.m. on December 19, 2000, to deal with the following items:

 

a) confirmation of the date for filing replies to any comments and responses to any applications for leave to intervene, if necessary;

 

  • b) date of a pre-hearing to decide on any application for leave to intervene, if necessary;

 

  • c) confirmation of the date of the hearing on the Application; and

 

  • d) any other matter raised by counsel for the Parties that should be dealt with at this pre-hearing conference.
