Dear Sirs/Mesdames: CT-2024-010 Commissioner of Competition v. Google Canada Corporation and Google LLC Request for Extension of Time to File Response and First Case Conference

We are counsel to the Respondents, Google Canada Corporation and Google LLC (together, “Google”), in the above-noted proceeding. We ask that a copy of this letter and attached Motion Record be provided to the judicial member of the panel presiding over the above-noted proceeding.

With the consent of the Commissioner of Competition (“Commissioner”), Google respectfully requests an extension of time pursuant to rule 5 of the Competition Tribunal Rules for the service and filing of its Response to the Notice of Application of the Commissioner to February 14, 2025. We would be grateful if the Tribunal would advise as soon as possible whether this request for an extension of time will be granted.

To the extent necessary or advisable, we have attached to this letter a formal Motion Record pertaining to Google’s request for this brief extension of time.

Counsel for the Commissioner have been copied on this correspondence. We also respectfully request that the presiding judicial member convene the first Case Conference in respect of this proceeding during the weeks of January 6 or 13, 2025 to discuss the way forward in this matter. In this regard, we have canvassed the availability of counsel for the Commissioner. Counsel are generally available for a Case Conference on January 6, 9, 13, or 15-17, 2025. We would be pleased to speak to Google’s request for an extension of time during the Case Conference as well.

Yours very truly,

Chenyang Li Attachment
