Mr. Mark Thompson ("Thompson") and Mr. Luciano Bet (''Bet") request leave oft he Competition Tribunal, pursuant to Section 9(3) of the Competition Tribunal Act, R.S. 1985, c. 19, to intervene in these proceedings. In support oft he request, Thompson and Bet intend to rely upon the agreements filed in this matter, and in psrticular in relation to the employees ofBrowning-Ferris Industries Ltd., together with affidavit material that Thompson and Bet request leave to provide to this Tribunal.

As long-time employees ofBrowning-Ferris Industries Ltd., Thompson and Bet, along with the many other employees, are affected by the takeover by Canadian Waste Services Inc. ("CWS''); The conduct of CWS in relation to its employees, and in particular to Thompson and Bet, reflects the absence of competition, with the result being that employees have been ignored and kept uninformed of the affects of the takeover in relation to the employees.

IV The official language to be used: English.
V. Tbompt0n and Bet propose to participate in the proceedings on the following basis: (a) the calling of viva voce evidence at the hearing of the Application; (b) the examination and cross-examination of witnesses at the hearing of the Application; (c) the submission oflegal argument at the hearing of the Application.
